A WOMAN has been charged with allowing her 10-year-old son to be caned about 100 times by her husband, who is the child's stepfather.

The 39-year-old hairstylist is said to have handed over two rattan canes to her husband, a 39-year-old owner of a hair salon who has since been jailed nine months for the offence, to administer about 100 strokes on the boy, causing him to suffer unnecessary physical injuries.

The alleged offence took place on Sept 15, 2007.
