KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: The medical attendant, who allegedly molested a 25-year-old woman at a specialist centre in Cheras, is on leave pending police investigations.
City Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner II Ku Chin Wah said police were now trying to gather enough evidence to charge the suspect.
He said there should have been a female medical attendant during the procedure as the patient was a woman. However, police believe the procedure was not followed.
The victim, Cecilia Lee, had claimed that she was molested by the attendant when she went to the specialist centre to have an X-ray done on Dec 30.
She had been told to remove her clothing except for a singlet and her panties. She was given a cloth to cover herself while lying on an examination table.
She claimed the attendant had lifted up the cloth and rubbed her private parts through her panties before pulling them down. She lodged a report after telling a friend what had happened.
On a subsequent visit, claimed Lee, the management of the specialist centre asked her to withdraw her report.
