by Elena Chong, Courts Correspondent

Irawan Hanafi Ruddy, 35, is accused of speeding along Still Road, causing his Toyota Corolla to veer left, mount a kerb and hit the concrete wall of a house, resulting in the death of Mr Ismail Abu Bakar, 40, at 11.38pm on Dec 1, 2006.

He is said to have caused grievous hurt to Ms Sabiah Abu Bakar, 44, in the rear right seat, and caused hurt to front seat passenger Jeanne Charlemae Dideles, 26, and Ms Loraine Bueud Arat, 32, who was seated behind.

The fifth charge accuses the then work permit agent of not displaying a probationary driver's licence.
