Pet birds stolen

PET birds were stolen from two Housing Board flats last week after their owner hung up their cages on window grilles facing common corridors.

A popular songbird known to bird lovers as Mata Puteh was stolen from a unit at Block 410 Commonwealth Avenue last Friday morning.

In another incident at Block 352 Yishun Ring Road, a bird owner lost two similar greenish-yellow birds - valued at about $1,000 each - after two cages were stolen.
