A 48-YEAR-OLD man who terrorised seven women in the dark of the night, robbing and sexually violating them, has been jailed 42 years, the longest sentence yet handed down to a sexual offender.

Bala Kuppusamy was also ordered to be caned the maximum 24 strokes on Tuesday.

The serial predator who had been to prison twice for rape, and both times, 1 1/2 month after his release, went back to assaulting women.
