GEORGE TOWN, Malaysia: A 19-year-old worker at a stall in a hypermarket was nabbed after he grabbed a woman and started kissing her.

The 22-year-old woman was walking out of a toilet at about 11.30am on Tuesday in a hypermarket in Seberang Jaya, Butterworth, when the incident happened.

She was stunned when the man grabbed her by the shoulders and kissed her repeatedly on the cheeks.

Both are workers at different stalls at the hypermarket. Her screams brought others to her aid.

The man was overpowered after a struggle and he was handed over to the police.

State CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Wan Abdullah Tuanku Said said the case was being investigated for using criminal force with intent to outrage one's modesty. It carries a 10-year jail term or a fine or whipping.

In another incident, SAC Wan Abdullah said a 29-year-old maid, who claimed she was abused, had been handed over to the Indonesian consulate in Penang.

"We will wrap up the investigation once we receive the medical report," he said.

On Sunday, the maid claimed that she became injured after her employer pushed her down the stairs of a double-storey house in Gelugor.
