SEREMBAN, MALAYSIA: A 52-year-old lorry driver has been arrested for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter over the past four years.

The heinous crime was uncovered when the girl's mother found stains she suspected to be semen on her daughter's panties at their home in Paroi, near here, on April 8.

Both the suspect and the victim were not at home when the mother returned home, said district police chief ACP Saiful Azly Abdullah.

"She went to her daughter's room and found it ajar. Upon entering, she found the teenager's panties on the bed and was surprised to see stains which she suspected was semen.

"The mother then went to her room and was shocked when she noticed her husband's pants had fresh traces of semen as well," he said.

When the daughter, the fifth of the couple's seven children returned home, the mother questioned her about the stains.

The daughter began sobbing and told her that her father had been raping her since she was 12.

"The mother then took her to the Seremban 2 police station and lodged a report," he said.

ACP Saiful Azly said police would also visit the previous home of the family in Kuala Pilah to verify some claims made by the teenager.

He said police arrested the suspect outside his house on May 4. He has been remanded until May 10.

Police have classified the case under Section 376A of the Penal Code for incest.
