The New Straits Times

SEREMBAN, Malaysia: A drunken Mat Rempit almost knocked down an RTD officer and rode against traffic in an attempt to avoid a roadblock yesterday.

The youth was caught when he fell off his motorbike after brushing against a car.

He was riding along after a booze-up about midnight when he spotted the Road Transport Department roadblock in Jalan Datuk Bandar Tunggal and tried to speed away.

He did have a valid licence and road tax, but he said he couldn't ride properly because he had been drinking. He was one of 264 people summoned for various offences. -NST
