A WOMAN was fined $3,000 on Tuesday for feeding monkeys at Central Catchment Nature Reserve in Mandai.

Xiao Lexiang, 37, a housewife, admitted to throwing sweets at the monkeys from a vehicle along Old Upper Thomson access road on Feb 23 last year.

A magistrate's court heard that two Certis Cisco officers were on inspection rounds at the nature reserve when they saw Xiao feeding monkeys with sweets.
