The New Straits Times

TEMERLOH, MALAYSIA - A housing developer is living in fear after a bag with a hand grenade and bullet was left at his home in Mentakab on Tuesday.

The 51-year-old had earlier received a text message death threat at 4.30pm.

The message stated that the developer should give the sender cash or he would be killed.

The message also warned that a bag with a grenade and bullet had been sent to his home in Taman Bukit Bendera.

The developer rushed home and was shocked to discover a small bag with the ordnance inside.

He alerted the police and a bomb disposal squad was despatched to his home to retrieve the bag.

Deputy district police chief Superintendent Mohamed Zulmazi Che Daud said the man's wife and children were unaware that the bag had been placed in the compound of their house.

Zulmazi said the victim claimed he had no enemies nor did he owe money to anyone.
