'He was a godfather not lover'
Mon, Jun 29, 2009
The Straits Times

WHILE being investigated by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) for her involvement in a marriage of convenience with cleaner Chan Hon Kwan, Chinese national Lin Yanmei was found to have a credit card given to her by another man.

In a district court on Monday, she denied telling principal senior investigator Neo Siong Leng that she had frequented hotels with Mr Mah Ching Leong.

She said he was her 'godfather'.

Ms Lin, a 41-year-old clinic assistant who accused Neo of assaulting her last year, testified that Mr Mah gave the card because she reminded him so much of his daughter in Australia.
