KLANG, MALAYSIA: A security guard was jailed 31 years and ordered to be caned 16 times for raping his two daughters, one of whom he sodomised, too.

The 49-year-old man pleaded guilty to raping his 15-year-old daughter in a bathroom of their house in Telok Gong, Pandamaran, about 3pm on June 30.

He was also charged with raping his 13-year-old daughter at about 2am in their home on June 17. He was also guilty of sodomising the girl at his work place at about 11.30pm on June 3.

The guard, who was not represented, pleaded guilty to all the three charges.

Judge Datuk Anita Harun sentenced him to 16 years in jail and six strokes of the rotan for raping the elder girl and 15 years jail and caned five times each for raping and sodomising the other daughter.

She ordered the sentences to run concurrently.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Mai Sarah Kamal asked for a deterrent sentence as the accused had been raping the 15-year-old girl since she was 12.

The accused, who appealed for a lighter sentence, asked the court to allow him to meet his wife and children before he started serving his sentences.

However, his family members were not present in court.
