The New Straits Times

SEREMBAN, Malaysia - A lorry driver and a security guard were arrested for posing as cops at a house where foreign workers lived in Temiang, here, on Thursday morning.

The two, in their 30s, were nabbed by police when they went to the house and demanded to check the workers' travel papers.

The men, dressed in plain clothes, then stole several valuable items from the workers.

District police chief Superintendent Assistant Commissioner Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said the workers became suspicious when the men "confiscated" their valuables.

"The workers then called the police and both men were picked up at the house. Initial investigations revealed that one is a lorry driver and the other a security guard."

He said police were investigating if the men were behind similar cases in the area.
