KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Police have confirmed that a Datuk will be among several people to be detained soon for their involvement in loan shark activities.

The suspects have been operating in the northern part of the country, says CID director Comm Datuk Mohd Bakri Zinin.

He said investigations revealed that the suspects were not just from one syndicate but several groups.

"I can't reveal more as it would jeopardise our investigations," he said.
