KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Three suspects of a group which used high-end hotels in the city to distribute synthetic drugs were arrested.

City narcotics department officers, acting on a tip off, arrested a 30-year-old web designer at a five-star hotel here on Monday at 4am.

Police found an array of drugs in small quantities in his room.

In a follow-up, police arrested another suspect, aged 23, a nightclub deejay near the same hotel with a paper bag containing 13g of ketamine hidden in his underwear at 1.30pm.

After interrogation, police arrested yet another suspect, aged 22, who is a hair salon owner, near a hotel in Jalan Bukit Bintang at 7pm.

He hid two plastic packets each containing ketamine (57 grammes) and 99 Ecstasy pills (28 grammes) in his underwear.

All three are believed to have been actively distributing drugs in the Bukit Bintang area the last six months and police have remanded them for seven days.

City narcotics chief Asst Comm Kang Chez Chiang said the suspects were being investigated under Section 39b of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
