THE overall crime situation in Singapore is under control, with the number of cases in the first six months falling by 1.3 per cent, compared to a year ago.
Four out of the six crime categories saw decreases, with a significant 23.7 per cent fall in violent property crimes, which usually refer to robbery cases, according to the mid-year crime report card released by police on Wednesday.
Miscellaneous crimes, which comprise of various offences such as vandalism, trespassing and disorderly behaviour, also dropped by 12.8 per cent.
