The Straits Times

THE Singapore Home Team has busted a human smuggling syndicate and arrested five men.

Officers from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and the Police Coast Guard (PCG) nabbed three illegal Chinese immigrants and two Singaporean abettors in a joint operation conducted on the eastern coast of Singapore.

On March 18, the authorities staked out at a secluded spot on the beach and spotted a Singapore-registered lorry pulling into a park at about 6.30pm.
