CONVICTED celebrity monk Shi Ming Yi and his former aide Raymong Yeung have filed appeals to the court after their highly-publicised convictions two weeks ago.

Both men's lawyers said the notices were filed at the end of last week.

After a 21-day trial, District Judge Toh Yung Cheong found that the former Ren Ci chief executive and his aide had conspired to make an unauthorised loan of $50,000 on May 17, 2004, and given false information to the Commissioner of Charities (COC).
