Jailed for stealing rice

A MAN was jailed for seven weeks on Monday for theft of 34 packets of rice and for careless driving.

Muhammad Faisal Mokhtar, 26, then a driver with Gangaa Trading Co, Oil & Grains Merchant, admitted to conspiring with his colleagues, Muhammad Feroz Madi, 27, and Muhammad Amin Mohamed Yusoff to remove 34 packets of rice worth $374 from the company at Jalan Senang on May 23 this year.

He also pleaded guilty to carelessly hitting a parked trishaw while reversing a car and failing to stop after the accident the same day.
