GROs tried to commit suicide during police raid

Guang Ming Daily reported that several guest relations officers from an entertainment outlet in Johor Baru tried to commit suicide when police raided the place.

During the midnight operation, the GROs broke bottles and glasses and threatened suicide. However, the police managed to stop them from doing so.

A police inspector from Bukit Aman who led the team said the 52 detainees included an Indonesian, 11 Filipinos, 14 Vietnamese, 12 Thais, customers, workers and a couple who was the outlet operator.

A total of 37 GROs, aged between 18 and 31, were detained.
