A 37-year old Malaysian was arrested at the Woodlands Checkpoint on November 29, 2009 after Immigrations & Checkpoint Authority of Singapore (ICA) officers found uncensored obscene optical discs hidden within his Hyundai Matrix.

A total of 1,815 pieces of such discs were retrieved from the car during the search Sunday morning.

ICA officers had initially stopped the lone driver at the Arrival Car Green Channel for a routine check but suspected some items were hidden beneath the upholstery.

The car was then directed to the inspection pit for further checks.

The man claimed to have been promised RM 400 (S$163) to drive the consignment into Singapore.

He was immediately placed under arrest and is now helping police with further investigations.
