MALAYSIA, SUNGAI BULOH: Shafiq Haikal Sahari, the elder brother of 3-year-old Syafia Humaira, knows who killed his sister.

"I am angry and will never forgive him. (He) is a bad person. I hope God will punish him. I have no one to play with any more. I miss her and feel so lonely," said the 7-year-old.

Syafia's uncle, Mohd Izham Aziz, said he regretted not being able to take Syafia to the National Zoo yesterday.

"I promised to take her to the zoo after getting my salary as she wanted to see a tiger, but now she is gone," he lamented.

Syafia apparently, became interested in tigers when she learned that it was the Year of the Tiger in the Chinese lunar calendar.

Izham, 22, said a week before Syafia was killed, the victim would insist on sleeping with him.

"We were close. I miss her. I still remember her giggles and funny actions."

A week ago, Izham said, Syafia began carrying around a picture of herself. She would show the picture to everyone, but no one knew why she was doing so. She would also not let go of the picture, he added.

Izham said he was overcome with grief when he saw his niece's battered body in the mortuary.

He said he had never liked his sister's boyfriend and hardly spoke to him.

Izham said he also did not like the fact that the taxi driver had, for the past two months, been frequently taking Syafia back to his home in Ulu Yam.
