KUCHING: Six suspects in the murder of a teenage girl last week have been remanded for seven days to facilitate police investigation.

Magistrate Portia Tham ordered the remand until March 22.

The suspects, one of them a teenage girl, were detained by police in an operation which ended at 2am yesterday.

Suci Nur Rahman, 14, was stabbed to death when she was walking home at about 8pm on Thursday by two men on a scooter.

She was with two schoolmates, who were also stabbed.

The trio were said to have been confronted by the suspects, who demanded their valuables before stabbing them.

Suci's mother, Madu Retna, 36, told reporters her daughter left the house around 7pm to buy a mobile phone reload card at a grocery shop nearby but never returned.
