BESUT: A 35-year-old paraplegic was among two drug traffickers arrested in Kampung Denger Jertih here on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of narcotics officers arrested the men after intercepting their car.

District police chief Superintendent Kamaruddin Mohd Zakaria said both men, from Jertih, were tested positive for methamphetamine. The paraplegic had also served a jail sentence for a drug offence in 2004.

Kamaruddin said police seized a vial of heroin, a stimulant pill, 13 straws of heroin and two packets of cannabis stored in the car.

Both men are being held at the Besut police station for further investigation.
