Cross-dressers fined S$43.09

KUANTAN - Five men were fined RM100 (S$43.09) each by the magistrate's court yesterday for dressing as women.

Muhammad Nur Abd Rahman, 32, Muhammad Akmal Yahya, 20, Muhammad Abdullah, 30, Mu- hammad Saufi Ripin, 19, and Lim Chin Soon, 25, pleaded guilty to committing the offence near the wet market in Jalan Pasar Baru here, between 11.30pm and 11.50pm, on April 10.

Muhammad Nur was from Kuala Lumpur while Saufi from Kota Baru, Kelantan. The others were all locals.

Magistrate Iriane Isabello ordered them to pay the RM100 fine or seven days' jail in lieu.

Chief Inspector Azman Ariffin prosecuted.
