SINGAPORE - The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has arrested a suspected drug trafficker and seized approximately 2.5 kilograms of heroin with an estimated $375,000 street value.

Early yesterday afternoon, CNB officers effected forced entry into an HDB unit in Simei after confirming that the 36-year-old male Singaporean was in the unit.

They had been monitoring the suspect as he was believed to be distributing a sizeable amount of heroin.

Once inside, the suspect was swiftly placed under arrest inside one of the bedrooms.

A black sling bag containing 2.5kg of heroin was recovered from inside a cupboard in another bedroom. The drug was wrapped in five bundles wrapped in black tape and one open bundle.

The man will be investigated for drug trafficking and may face the death penalty if convicted.
