SUNGAI PETANI, MALAYSIA: A 6-year-old boy drowned after he fell into a sewage hole in Taman Kempas here on Thursday afternoon.
In the 2.30pm incident, Mohd Raziman Khozali was playing with his friend, only known as Mohd Aiman, 5, near the sewage hole when its concrete cover suddenly cracked open.
The two fell into the two-metre deep and 0.5m wide hole.
A neighbour, who was nearby and saw them fall into the hole, went to their aid but only managed to pull out Aiman.
Raziman's father Khozali Ibrahim, 55, rushed to the scene after being told that his son was feared drowned.
With his eldest son, Mohd Rasiman Khozali, 24, they tried to locate Raziman.
They only managed to bring the boy out half an hour later.
Raziman was still alive when he was rushed to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital near here.
He was later transferred to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital when his condition worsened.
He was pronounced dead at 7pm.
Aiman, who had minor injuries, sought treatment at a private clinic.
