KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: A bomb scare at the KLCC shopping centre resulted in a few hundred people being evacuated from the Twin Towers yesterday afternoon.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zulkarnain Abdul Rahman said a security guard found a bag near the autopay station at the ground floor car park of Twin Tower 2 at 3pm.

He said the guard heard some sounds coming from the bag.

He immediately alerted the police, fire and rescue department and bomb squad.

ACP Zulkarnain said his men evacuated everyone from the car park. The bag was brought out to a vacant area about 100m away before it was detonated at 5.55pm.

"The bag only contained clothes," he said.
