The Star

Harian Metro highlighted a report that four unanswered 999 emergency calls led to failure to save a woman who suffered a heart attack at Sri Sarawak flats in Kuala Lumpur.

Taxi driver Azizan Abdullah 52, said he made the calls with his mobile phone after he found neighbour S. Kalaiselvi, in her late 50s, lying on the floor of the living room.

"I dialled 999 using my mobile phone and after dialling four times, my calls remained unanswered," he said.

He said he later dialled 994, but there was also no answer.

He then dialled RakanCop Kuala Lumpur and following that an ambulance arrived an hour later but it was too late to save the woman.
