'Belly' good

GEORGE TOWN, MALAYSIA: Over 300 people were treated to an awesome display of moves by 12 children at a belly dancing competition for kids here on Saturday.

Melissa Lee Jia Xuan, 8, of SRJK(C) Keow Kuang, Bukit Mertajam, emerged as the winner in the event organised by Zero Fitness Dance Studio at the Guang Ming Daily's Hall in Jalan Macalister.

Lee won a trophy, RM200 cash and vouchers worth RM200.

Finishing second was the pair of Ho Jun Yen and Lim Phei Gee, and in third spot was Tan Jenn Joe.

Organising chairman Conny Lim said it was the first children's belly dancing competition in the country.
"The event was organised in conjunction with World Belly Dance Day."
