PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA: Barisan Nasional is considering issuing a show-cause letter to the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) for deciding to go ahead with a move to support a no-confidence motion against Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

On Friday, the SAPP supreme council endorsed its president Datuk Yong Teck Lee's call to support a vote of no confidence against the Prime Minister in Parliament tomorrow.

Barisan secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor told mstar.com.my that he would discuss with Abdullah, who is the coalition's chairman, on the matter.

"I will ask for Abdullah's views for SAPP to be given a show-cause letter on its decision to go ahead with a no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister," he added.

Tengku Adnan said SAPP's action was akin to a son who could not live with his father.

"Barisan is like a family. It (SAPP) is like a son who wants to remain in the family but cannot get along with the father," he said.Tengku Adnan said he believed the motion would not be tabled tomorrow because procedures must be adhered to first. "Furthermore, until yesterday, the motion has yet to be filed," he said.
