KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was seen entering the Desa Damansara condominium here in Damansara Heights more than a month ago.

According to a security guard who spoke on condition of anonymity, Anwar had entered the heavily-guarded premises with his driver and bodyguard.

"Yes, I saw him enter once or twice, but this was quite a while ago. He came in a vehicle not commonly available in Malaysia. It had tinted windows. I saw who was in the car when they wound down the window to touch the card at the guard house to gain entry into the premises."

The security guards, however, could not recall whether they had seen Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, saying there were many residents entering and exiting the premises.

Security is tight at the condominium and visitors are not permitted entry without the guards obtaining permission from the residents first.

The guards also go on regular patrols around the premises.

The New Straits Times learnt that a friend of Anwar's owns unit 1151 and had given the him access to the apartment.

A police forensics team spent about five hours in the unit on Monday.
