KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation wants the Anti-Corruption Agency to probe purchases worth RM98 million made by the police early this year.

Foundation exco member Tan Sri Robert Phang Miow Sin said the MCPF would hand over eight pages of documents to the ACA today.

Phang said he received the documents anonymously on July 23. Among others, the documents were on the purchase of dogs, equipment, vehicles and uniforms.

Phang said no tenders were called for the purchases.

He said the dogs should have been bought directly from the trainers.

"I do not want to reveal more... let the ACA do the investigation. I have spoken to them and they asked us to surrender the files to them."

Phang said copies of the documents would also be given to Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Sidek Hassan, Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar, Home Ministry Secretary-General Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

"The sender requested I ensure these documents reach all these individuals."

Transparency International Malaysia president Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim said the purchases did not comply fully with procedures.
