SUBANG JAYA, MALAYSIA: District police have alerted their counterparts in the Klang Valley to be on the lookout for five men, believed to be armed and dangerous, in a stolen grey Honda Civic.

The alert was issued following an encounter with the men in Puchong Hartamas yesterday when the driver rammed the vehicle into two unmarked police cars and escaped with his four accomplices.

They managed to escape despite police firing several shots, which missed the car tyres.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Zainal Rashid Abu Bakar said his men tailed the vehicle, which was being driven in a "suspicious manner".

He said the driver of the Civic, who was alone at the time, parked at an apartment complex in Puchong Hartamas and alighted from the vehicle.
"Checks revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Klang earlier this week, so my men parked behind the car to block it.

"The driver returned with four men and entered the vehicle.

"My men approached them and asked to see their identity cards."

The driver then gunned the engine and reversed his vehicle several times into the two police cars and escaped.

The police personnel were unable to pursue the suspects as their cars were wrecked.
