>DUNGUN, MALAYSIA: Two robbers were assaulted by villagers when they tried to break into a house for the second time on Tuesday.

They were ambushed by the house owner and other villagers when they tried to force open the front door of the house in Kampung Alor Jejawi.

One of them, however, escaped, while the other, a 25-year-old, was handed to the police.

District police chief Superintendent Dahlan Mohd Noor said the two had broken into the house on Monday night and carted away items, including two cameras and kitchen tool, worth RM400 (S$165).

The owner then sought help from his neighbours to catch the robbers.
