Fined for homemade cannon

KLANG: Two Sabahans were fined RM500 by the magistrate's court yesterday for unlawfully possessing a home-made cannon last week.

Mohamad Zain Bahari, 27, and Hussein Osman, 40, both contract workers, were fined by magistrate Fadlizatul Isma Ahmad Refngah after they pleaded guilty.

She also ordered them to serve two weeks' jail if they failed to pay the fine.

Zain and Hussein admitted possessing a coconut cannon ball and three fibre pipes along Jalan Batu Nilam 1B, Bandar Bukit Tinggi here, at 9.30pm on Friday.

Assistant public prosecutor Nurul Marsarah Kamal prosecuted while both accused were not represented.
