Penang floods fail to dampen festivities

It was a warm but wet Hari Raya Aidilfitri for those in Penang, when floods caused by heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers turned villages into pools and created massive traffic jams in the city. Penang residents have been hit by jams and road closures in low-lying areas in recent days, the result of landslides and floods.

Many did not allow the wet weather to dampen the festivities, however, and continued with their Hari Raya celebrations.
