KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Two infants were found abandoned within 14 hours of each other in the Klang Valley yesterday. However, only one was found alive.

The first to be found was a 3-day-old girl, wrapped in a piece of cloth inside a plastic bag in front of Rumah Panjang Ampang Campuran in Ampang.

Suraya Mohamad Sabudin said she found the baby, who was crying, outside her home at 5.30am.

The 39-year-old housewife said she brought the 4kg baby in, covered it with a napkin and took it to the Taman Dagang police station. Police later sent the infant to the Ampang Hospital for a check-up.

Ampang police chief Assistant Commissioner Abd Jalil Hassan said the baby was in stable condition.

At 7.30pm, the body of another baby girl was found wrapped in plastic and buried in a hill at Bandar Kinrara 5 in Puchong.

The body was found by an Indonesian labourer who was walking to a sundry shop. It was taken to the Serdang Hospital for a post-mortem.
