>TAMPIN, Malaysia: A 35-year-old Thai man was hurt when he tried to ride the roof of the Ekspres Wau train from Kuala Lumpur to Tumpat, Kelantan.

It is understood that the man, identified only as Atming, boarded the last coach on the train with four Thai friends on Friday.

Around 10.30pm passengers heard cries for help and loud knocking from outside the train. When they opened the door, they found him covered in blood.

Atming was sent to the Tampin Hospital. He was later transferred to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban.

He had valid travel documents but it is believed he was travelling without a ticket.
