RAWANG(Malaysia): The son of a police sergeant shot his mother with his father's semi-automatic pistol at their home in Bandar Country Homes here last night.

The shot, which was meant for the father, hit the mother in her right ribs.

The 45-year-old woman is reported to be in stable condition at Sungai Buloh Hopital.

Before the shooting, the boy had a misunderstanding with his father, who had reproached him at 7pm.

The boy, angry at being admonished, ran to his parents' room and took the father's pistol from a drawer.
The boy then ran downstairs to the porch where his parents were and fired a shot.

The boy, 15, eldest of four children fled and police are now looking for him.
