KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Staff of Kinrara assemblyman Teresa Kok caught a man using black paint to "decorate" the front entrance wall of her office in Jalan Kuchai Lama.
The 42-year-old man, believed to be mentally unstable, was caught by the staff at 2pm on Wednesday when they returned from lunch.
City police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman said the man was "writing" Chinese characters on the wall. The characters read: "Teresa you only tell lies."
"The man was caught and the staff seized a spray can from him," he said at a police blood donation campaign.
Kok has lodged a police report.
"We are investigating the case for committing mischief and causing damage," DCP Muhammad Sabtu said.
The man was released under police bail.
DCP Muhammad also advised the public not to take part in today's candlelight vigil at the Indian High Commission in Jalan Duta.
He said the gathering was organised to protest the Mumbai attacks last week.
"We will not issue permits for open air gatherings and the police do not encourage them.
"To ensure order, we would be forced to cordon off the roads leading to the High Commission," he said, adding police would not hesitate to make arrests if the crowd refuse to disperse.
