A WOMAN tried to commit suicide upon receiving an SMS that her husband wanted to reconcile with his first wife. However, she failed in her bid when her clothes got caught in the window, Kosmo! reported.

The woman, in her 20s, had tried to jump off the 11th floor of Wisma Persekutuan in Kota Baru, Kelantan, but when her clothes got caught in the window, her friends managed to pull her back.

"When she got back into the building she rushed for the back door of the building but that attempt was again foiled by her colleagues," said a witness.

The witness said the woman had had an argument with her husband before arriving for work. She later received the SMS that he wanted to reconcile with his first wife.

District police chief Asst Comm Zahruddin Abdullah confirmed the incident and said the woman had been detained.
