12 lose jobs, have no money to return home
Thu, Dec 11, 2008
The Star

Tamil Nesan highlighted the plight of 12 South Indian nationals who lost their jobs two months ago and had no money to return home.

One of them, R. Arokiasamy, 28, said that they were recruited on a three-year work permit by a company specialising in making computer parts based in Taman Desa Cemerlang in Ulu Tiram, Johor.

He said the company failed to renew their work permits, which expired in October and pay them two months' salary for terminating their employment.

He said the management threatened them whenever they ask for the outstanding salaries and were silent to their request for arrangements to return home.

The 12 men are hoping that someone will come forward to help them get their salaries so they could return home to.
