MALAYSIA - A Couple failed to stop Pahang Religious Department (JAIP) officers from detaining them despite having a child with them at a budget hotel in Kuantan, reported Kosmo!.

When questioned, the couple looked nervous while trying to convince the officers that they were married.

"They were arrested because they failed to prove that their were husband and wife even though there was a child with them," said department deputy director Mohd Ghazali Abd Aziz.

The arrest was part of Jaip's raids on Valentine's Day, where 26 couples were detained and questioned at 15 budget hotels during the operation. -The Star/ANN
