Toddler dies in fire

>KOTA KINABALU, MALAYSIA: A three-year-old girl was killed when fire razed her house at the 43rd kilometre of the Lahad Datu-Kunak road on the Sabah east coast yesterday.

Family members could not rescue Nur Shafikah Austin as fire spread rapidly through their house.

She was with her two-year-old brother and their grandmother Rabiah Salleh, 56, while her parents were out at work. Rabiah suffered slight burns to her hand and face while the boy sustained minor injuries.
