KLANG, MALAYSIA: Fed up with the constant presence of a man believed to be a tout at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital here, a doctor apprehended and handed him over to the police.

According to the police, the man was seen entering one of the emergency units of the hospital on Saturday morning and was told to leave by the male doctor who was on duty there.

The man left but appeared again at the same emergency unit later in the evening to the chagrin of the same doctor who was still on duty.

He confronted him and the two are believed to have pushed and shoved each other, resulting in the doctor being slightly injured.

The doctor managed to apprehend the man and hand him over to the police with the help of in-house security guards.

The man is believed to be one of several touts who prowled the hospital offering to process insurance claims for accident victims.

A police spokesman said the suspected tout had been arrested and in remand pending investigation.

The doctor, he said, would also be called in for his statement to be recorded.
