Police report lodged against Manohara

KUALA LUMPUR: The Tengku Temenggong of Kelantan, Tengku Mohamad Fakhry Sultan Ismail Petra, is contemplating taking legal action based on the slander made against him by his Indonesian model ex-wife Manohara Odelia Pinot and her mother Daisy Farajina.

The prince's lawyer, Mohd Haziq Pillay told reporters at a press conference that a police report on the matter was also lodged Thursday afternoon at the Dang Wangi Police Headquarters here.

However, he remained tight-lipped about the content of the report.

"I think it suffices to say that a report has been made and we will let the police investigate the matter," he said.

Daisy, 44, and Manohara, 17, have been interviewed in various talk shows in Indonesia, repeating allegations of mistreatment that Manohara had suffered at the hands of her husband.

The allegations began last week following news of Manohara's "escape" from Tengku Mohamad Fakhry, 31, when they were in Singapore to visit his father who was being treated at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital for a heart ailment.

Asked why the report was being lodged in Malaysia and not in Indonesia, Mohd Haziq said "the law provides for that as long as the course of action took place here, then it is only right the police report be made here."

He added that the prince was "definitely denying all the allegations made against him."

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Wira Muhammad Sabtu Osman confirmed the police report but declined to comment further.
