AN Indonesian, who helped harvest oil palm fruits for his brother, died after a 30kg bunch fell on him, reported Harian Metro.

Shaman Riawan, 34, of Lombok was visiting his brother at the plantation in Batu Pahat, Johor when he offered to help harvest the fruits.

His brother, Isa, 32, said he was at first apprehensive to allow his brother to harvest the heavy fruit bunches but allowed it after seeing him do a good job and went about doing other work.

He later found his brother, a goat farm worker in Malacca, motionless with the right side of his head crushed under a fruit bunch. Shaman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Batu Pahat Hospital.
