China Press reported about a mother of two who was forced to become a bar girl after her husband left her in debt.

The daily reported that the woman's two daughters had to fend for themselves when she goes out to earn a living in the evening.

She claimed that her 38-year-old husband had used up all their savings and urged him to return to settle his debt problems.

'I was initially unaware that my husband had used our savings until I saw a statement from the bank,' she told a press conference in Johor Baru.

The husband, who left home two months ago, only admitted that he had used the money to gamble after being questioned by her.

To make matters worse, the man also used his credit card to gamble, leaving the woman with a RM30,000 (S$12,267) debt.

'I hope he will return soon as the ownership of the house and car is in his name,' she said.

The woman said she still loved her husband and was willing to face the consequences together.
