"OH, God, I am going to die," a 65-year-old man cried out as he was being gored by a buffalo five times in an oil palm estate in Marang, Terengganu, Harian Metro reported yesterday.

"The bushes in the estate were thick and I didn't realise that the buffalo was only one metre away from me," Ismail Sulaiman said, adding the incident happened so fast.

He said that he cannot remember anything and all he could do was to recite prayers.

"Despite being hurt, I had to ride the motorcycle by myself for two kilometres to seek medical help.

"A villager found me and brought me to the Wakaf Tapai Clinic around 12.30 pm last Sunday," he said at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital here.

Ismail, who lived with one of his sons in an estate nearby, sustained three broken ribs and injuries on his right arm and thigh.

His son, Mohd Rosli, 22, said wild buffaloes have attacked many villagers before and he was a victim at one time.
